From memories to modern design

Finn Hvidberg Nielsen is the designer behind Meadow. A sculptural designer and artist from South Denmark. Actually, the Meadow lounge chair is his very first launched furniture design.

Growing up in southern Denmark, he enjoyed spending time in the magical nature during the Danish summer. One memory in particular stayed with him: a moment of stillness in a vast, green meadow, surrounded by grass and wildflowers gently swaying in the breeze. Decades later, that memory has been translated into contemporary and sophisticated lines.

“I was sitting in the middle of a spacious, and for me back then, endless green and beautiful meadow. I still remember this state of pure, focused being - completely present and at one with this fascinating beauty of nature,” Finn Hvidberg explains.

Designed from this memory, Meadow combines soft upholstery with a graphic metal frame. The embracing silhouette and mellow aesthetic reflect the feeling of sitting in high grass, open to the sky, calm and surrounded. Organic curves and generous proportions give the chair a friendly, inviting presence, while the wide seat echoes the openness of the landscape.

Finn Hvidberg Nielsen works at the intersection of aesthetics and philosophy, following a design process where thoughts, impressions and perspectives are interwoven and constantly challenged to create new concepts and shapes. His approach gives life to expressive creations that you will easily fall in love with.

The design of Meadow is no exception. It echoes the memory of joyful days spent in the Danish landscape and the emotions tied to them. A sense of presence. A sense of tranquillity. The simple happiness of feeling the breeze on your skin, when you suddenly find yourself picking a flower here, another there without thinking, just moved by the moment.
